Obituary of George McHugh

George McHugh, 71, of Ocean Township died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at home. He was born in Jersey City and had resided in Freehold Township for 18 years and in Ocean Township for the past ten years. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School, Jersey City and served in the U.S. Army. He was a Battalion Chief for the Jersey City Fire Department where he served for 28 years before his retirement in 1998. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. His wife, Janet T. McHugh, died in 2004. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Kristen McHugh and Brian and Jaime McHugh; and three grandchildren, Brady, Madison, and Kylie. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
