Obituary of Ernest Iverson

Ernest “Mike” Iverson, 88, of Freehold died on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at home. He was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident of the area. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mike was an avid pilot since his was 16 years old. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Laura Vigne Iverson; a son, Raymond; and his siblings. Surviving are his wife, Joan Ekdahl Iverson; his children, Michael and wife Eileen, Mark and wife Helen, Thomas and wife Karen, Janice and husband Steve, Laura, and Chris and Lisa; 12 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad, 18 Spring Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
