Obituary of Dolores Marie Lewis
Dolores Marie Lewis, 86, of Freehold passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at home. She was born in Jersey City.
She was a graduate of Mount St. Dominic’s Academy, Caldwell.
She was a pari-mutuel clerk at Freehold Raceway for nearly 30 years before her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold and a member of the parish’s Altar-Rosary Society and Court St. Rose of Lima No. 737, Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Edward M. Lewis; a son, Peter M. Lewis in 1961; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Lewis; a brother, Donald Brennan; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Brennan and Claire Lewis Forman.
Surviving are her children, Deborah A. Hoffman and her companion, Andrew F. Dale; Kevin Lewis, Keith Lewis and his wife, Sandy, and Betsy Yurowski and her husband, Daniel; her brothers, Lawrence Brennan, and Michael Brennan and his wife Susan; two sisters-in-law, Laurel Brennan and Peg Lewis Farrell; eight grandchildren, Amanda Reyes, Meghan Lewis, Jessica Lewis, Zachary Lewis, Brian Lewis, Connor Lewis, Melissa and Daniel Yurowski; a great grandson; Elijah Harris; and many nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by entombment at St. Rose of Lima Mausoleum.
