Obituary of Helen M. Viggers

Helen M. Viggers, 89, of Jackson Township, died on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Bartley Healthcare Center, Jackson Township. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had resided in Staten Island, N.Y. before moving to Jackson. Helen was a foster mother with the Angel Guardian Home for Children to many children who were pulled out of troubled homes in New York City. She had an encyclopedic knowledge of crossword puzzles, loved 1940’s music, enjoyed horse racing and cards, and was an avid bingo player. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Patrick Kavanagh; her siblings, Eugene, Ann, Thomas, Robert, and Allan. Surviving are two daughters Leigh Gavinelli and husband Charlie and Christina Kokonis-Viggers; her siblings, Joseph, Patty, Michael, John, Danny, and Billy Farrell; and two grandchildren, Kristen and Sydney. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday, April 8th, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
