Obituary of Thaddeus C. Szymanski

Thaddeus “Ted” Szymanski, of Freehold passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the age of 82 at home surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his three children and their spouses, Thaddeus & Diane, Michael & Karen, and Suzanne & Vickie; his grandchildren, Megan, Christopher, & Michael Ian; his sisters Jean & Bernice, and his brother, Chester. Ted and Joan have enjoyed a beautiful life in Freehold for the past 58 years. He worked for Verizon until his retirement in 1992. He returned to teach fiber optics for more years before retiring a second time to care for his grandchildren. Ted was a volunteer fireman for Richardson Engine Company No. 2 of Freehold Fire Department. He served on the Borough of Freehold Zoning Board of Adjustment and was board chairman for many years. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donation in Ted’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association would be appreciated.
