Obituary of James H. Brown

James H Brown, 71, of Freehold passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 4, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry & Jessie Brown. He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy, their children Jonathan and his fiancé Roxanne, Patrick and Elizabeth and Jim’s children, Melissa (Mario) and James M (Helen); his loving grandchildren Gia, Ava, Matthew, and Jennifer; and his devoted sister, Carol (Henry). He will truly be missed by his two best friends Raphael and Molly his corgis. Born in Jersey City, Jim has lived in Freehold for 38 years. Jim retired from the Monmouth County Planning Board as the Assistant District Recycling Coordinator. He was involved with the St. Rose of Lima parish and Boy Scout Program along with the BSA of Monmouth County for 27 years. Jim was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1672. The love of his life, beside his wife, was hiking the great outdoors, especially along the Appalachian Trail which he hiked about 1,400 miles. Visitation will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold.
