Obituary of Lillian Battagliola
Lillian Battagliola, 93, of Manalapan Township, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Battagliola was born in New York City, and had lived in Yonkers, New York prior to moving to Manalapan Township 29 years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Thomas More R. C. Church, Manalapan Township, and was a member of the St. Thomas More Leisure Club. She was also a member of the Manalapan Township Senior Club.
Lillian enjoyed cooking, but her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was the widow of John L. Battagliola who died in 2007. A daughter, Christine M. Battagliola, died in 1996.
Surviving are a son, John S. Battagliola and his wife, Anne, Manalapan Township; two grandchildren, John Paul Battagliola and his wife, Rebecca, Manalapan Township, and Laura Carrigg and her husband, Patrick, Freehold Township; and four great grandchildren, Daniel, Jack, Lily, and Charlotte.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 186 Gordon’s Corner Road, Manalapan Township on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. followed by interment at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
