Obituary of Robert J D'Ambrosia
Robert J. “Bob” D’Ambrosia, 82, of Monroe Township died on Monday, June 8, 2015. He was born in the Bronx, N.Y. and had resided in Monroe Township for the past eight years, previously living in Manalapan Township for over 40 years.
Mr. D’Ambrosia was a veteran serving as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was in sales before his retirement.
As a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 53 years, he was a Sir Knight and heavily involved in building the membership in New Jersey at the state level as State Membership Chairman. He was a Past Grand Knight of Prince of Peace Council No. 5903, Englishtown and a Past Faithful Navigator and Color Corps member of Monsignor Kivelitz General Assembly, 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife, Anne, three sons and a daughter, Robert and wife Stephanie, Joseph and husband Steve Chappell, Stephen, and daughter Therese-Ann; a sister, Ann Delaney; and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Briana, and Matthew.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 186 Gordons Corner Road, Manalapan on Friday at 9:45 a.m.
Interment will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
