Obituary of Vilma Lois Calhoun

Vilma Lois Calhoun, 89, of Manalapan Township died on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Calhoun was born in Perth Amboy and had resided in Edison before moving to Manalapan Township. She was a graduate of Douglass College, New Brunswick and earned a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from the Biblical Seminary in New York. Mrs. Calhoun was a music teacher in the Perth Amboy Schools for 27 years before her retirement in 1994. She was the widow of A. John Calhoun who died in 2014. Surviving are a daughter, Roberta D. (James) Calhoun-Eagan; two sons, J. Kevin (Bernadette) Calhoun and David M. (Ada) Calhoun; a daughter-in-law and caregiver, Lori (Vin) Cusick; a brother, Arnold Csipo; her grandchildren, Tommy, Alexandra (Andrew) Jacoby, David (Christen) Calhoun, John and Andrew Calhoun, and Caitlin Jolicoeur; and two great grandchildren, Warren James and Quinn Noelle. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Englishtown, 50 Main Street, Englishtown on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment the Old Tennent Cemetery.
