Obituary of Melvin C. Willett
Melvin C. Willett, 87, of Colts Neck, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at home. Born in Irvington, he lived in Freehold prior to moving to Colts Neck in 1956.
Mr. Willett was employed by the Freehold Regional High School District, where he taught at Freehold Borough High School for 28 years, retiring in 1979. He was also a former member of the Colts Neck Board of Education.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Seton Hall University, South Orange.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War Two.
Surviving are his wife, Anne Mottola Willett; two sons, Craig Willett, Allentown, and Mel Willett, Frederick, Maryland; a daughter, Lisa Keating, Norton, Massachusetts; a sister, Jeannette Senter, Farmingdale; and six grandchildren, Kristina, James, Zachary, Thomas, Joseph, and Kathleen; several nieces; a nephew; and grandnieces.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold. Donations in his memory to the VNA Hospice of New Jersey, 1100 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712 would be appreciated.
