Obituary of Rosalia Signorelli

Rosalia Anna Signorelli, 92, went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2017, while at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Amantea, Italy on July 26, 1925 to Nunzio and Vincenza Altomonte. She married Vincenzo Signorelli in 1946. In 1958, they left their family and friends to give their daughters a better life in America. Rosalia resided in Perth Amboy, NJ until 1982, when she moved to Freehold, NJ. For the past 35 years, Rosalia was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, in Freehold. She spent her life doing what she loved; cooking, sewing, knitting, and caring for her family members, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She expressed her love best by caring for others. She was a true matriarch to her large Italian family and enjoyed sharing her native language and traditions with everyone. Rosalia taught her family many things including the true meaning of love, compassion, strength, faith, and courage. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Rosina, brother Mario and ex-husband Vincenzo Signorelli. She is survived by her five loving daughters Carmela & Joseph LaRosa, Filomena & John Hofnagle, Anna Maria & David Riley, Rosina & Robert Hary, Maria Teresa & Michael Anderson, her siblings Filomena, Vincenza, Francesca, Salvatore & Serafina and many nieces and nephews, her 12 grandchildren: Anthony & Linda LaRosa, Rosalie & Charles Anstett, Natalie & Sonny Combs, Edward & Malaina Hofnagle, Elizabeth Hofnagle, Charles Riley, Michael Riley, Dorothy & John Pensabene, Amanda Hary, Robert Hary, Ashley & Raymond Brogden & Sara & Timothy Tschurjumov, and her 11 great-grandchildren: Gina, Joseph, Cameron, Trinity, Evonne, Sienna, Ava, Daniel, Eve, Michael, Maya and one on the way. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, NJ on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 5-9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold, NJ, on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11:30 am, followed by entombment at St. Rose of Lima Mausoleum.
