Obituary of Jacqueline Snow

On November 25, 2017, the angels rejoiced as the gates of heaven opened to welcome Jacqueline Snow (Carter), age 77, to eternal rest. Jacqueline was born September 25, 1940 in New York City, the beloved daughter of the late Alexander E. Sr. and Alma K. (Milon) Carter. Jacqueline attended New York City public schools and graduated in 1961 with an AAS Degree from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, New York. Jacqueline was employed by the Federal Government with the Social Security Administration and later the Office of Economic Opportunity. Jacqueline was united in Holy Matrimony on August 4, 1962 to Hugh D. Snow at Convent Avenue Baptist Church, New York City. Jacqueline and her husband moved to Manalapan, New Jersey in 1967. God blessed the union with two wonderful daughters, Jennifer and Stephanie. Jacqueline loved being a stay-at-home mother. Jacqueline joined Second Baptist Church, Freehold, New Jersey under the pastorate of Rev. Paul McGuire and was an active member. She later joined Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold, New Jersey under the pastorate of Rev. Malcolm Steele where she served as President of the Stewardess Board. At the time of her passing, she was a member of Bethel A.M.E.Church, Freehold, New Jersey under the pastorate of Rev. Ronald L. Sparks. Jacqueline enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She loved family vacations, picnics and family gatherings. Jacqueline became Neighborhood Chairman of the Girl Scouts, USA. During the summer, she also opened her home to children from urban areas through the Fresh Air Fund. Jacqueline’s passion for education, led her to return to college where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1995 from Rutgers University. After more than twenty years of employment with the Visiting Nurse Association of Central New Jersey WIC Program, Jacqueline retired to participate in her grandchildren’s home schooling experience. Jacqueline was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother (affectionately called Mom Mom). She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald, Alexander E. III, and Daniel Carter. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Hugh, of 55 years; her daughters, Jennifer Snow Hildebrand (Andrew), Stephanie Snow Wiggins (Robert); eight grandchildren: Austin, Joshua, Ashton, Jordan, and Jacqueline Hildebrand and Paiyton, Aydan, and Isaiah Wiggins; her sister Blanche Carter Summers; brother-in-law Anthony Augustus Summers; a sister-in-law Ingrid Carter Harvey; cousins, friends, and church family. Funeral services will be held the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold on Friday at noon followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. The viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to noon.
