Obituary of Carolyn Simmons

Carolyn Simmons, 70, of Freehold died on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital, Wayne. Miss Simmons was born in New York City and had resided in Hackensack before moving to Freehold 40 years ago. She was a teacher in the Paterson Schools before her retirement. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Freehold, where she was active in Sunday school, Senior Choir and Usher Board. Surviving are two brothers, Edward Simmons, Hackensack and Henry Kent, Harken, Texas; and a sister, Arthurine Nelson, Gulfport, Mississippi. The viewing will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church, Freehold on Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the church on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
