He was in the U.S. Navy and served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. America during the Vietnam War. Mr. Patten was a very active and beloved member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County. Mr. Patten was a very kind and generous man and lived a life of service. His acts of caring touched the lives of many people and he will be sorely missed. He enjoyed traveling, cooking and gardening. Surviving are his wife, Dr. Ellen Adamoyurka-Patten, and his son, Jesse A Patten, Marlboro Township. We were blessed to have known him and have him as part of our lives. “LIFE ISN’T ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS, IT’S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN.” -Vivian Greene The Memorial Service, or rather a Celebration of His Life Service, will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County’s meeting house on West Front St. in Lincroft, NJ.
