Obituary of Brother Christian Edward Martin

Brother Christian Edward Martin, F.S.C., 85, of Lincroft died on September 27, 2017. He was born in Washington, D.C. and received the Holy Habit of the Christian Brothers on September 7, 1950. Brother Edward was a graduate of Catholic University, Washington, D.C. and earned a Master of Arts Degree in mathematics from Manhattan College and a Master of Arts Degree in chemistry from Kansas State College. His assignments included St. Augustine School, Bronx, N.Y., Good Shepherd School, New York City, St. Jerome’s School and St. John’s School, both of Bronx, N.Y., Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft where he served as director of the community, La Salle Academy, New York City, and St. Joseph Collegiate Institute, Buffalo, N.Y. where he served as director. He has been in residence at Christian Brothers Academy since 2007 serving as a volunteer at De La Salle Hall. The viewing will be held at the Christian Brother Academy Residence, 854 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft on Friday from 9:00 to 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
