Obituary of William E. Callahan

William E. Callahan, Jr., 79, of Howell Township passed away on August 22, 2017. He was born in Freehold. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. Mr. Callahan was a graduate of Monmouth University, West Long Branch. He was an avid baseball fan especially the Los Angeles Dodgers and coached his sons in the North Howell Little league. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Layton Callahan; three sons, Michael Callahan and wife Jeannie, William Callahan, and Brian Callahan; and three grandchildren, Connor, Caitlyn and Liam. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
