Obituary of Richard Hudanish
Richard “Tex” Hudanish, of Jackson Township, passed away on Sunday evening July 30, 2017 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township after a long illness of 3 1/2 years. He was 52 years old. He was born with Down’s syndrome in Perth Amboy and his childhood years were spent in Manalapan.
He went to Manalapan grade schools and Freehold High School. He was part of a large family and dearly loved and cherished by all. His first job was in a cafe in Marlboro, and he worked in many of the local restaurants throughout the years. He also attended work programs in ARC and 21 Plus, both of Lakewood. Most recently, he could be found daily at his sister’s bike shop in Howell where he took huge pride in keeping the property as clean as he possibly could.
He loved bike riding, music, basketball, bowling and being with his family and friends and neighbors. He made people laugh and had a personality that made him the life of every party.
He touched many hearts and lit up the room with his beautiful smile.

He leaves his mother, Joyce Hudanish-Schmitt; his stepdad, Don Schmitt; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jim and Lori Stankiewicz, Scott and Donna Cranmer, and Lloyd and Jennifer Drucker; and his twin brothers, Scott and Robert Hudanish.
