Obituary of Irene Gottstein
Irene Gottstein, 96, of Englishtown died Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Wedgwood Gardens, Freehold Township. Mrs. Gottstein was born in Beaver Valley, Pennsylvania and had resided in Camden before moving to Englishtown over 50 years ago.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Englishtown; and a member of American Legion Post No. 434 Auxiliary, Englishtown and the Beaver Valley Fire Hall Auxiliary.
She was the widow of Lewis E. Gottstein who died in 1980. A son, Alan L. Gottstein, died in 2001. Mrs. Gottstein was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters, George and Michael Zapach, Mary Lesnefsky, Ann Yutko, Sue Oszmanski, and Helen Chmielak.
Surviving are two sons, Dennis M. Gottstein and wife Patricia, and Ivan D. Gottstein; five grandchildren, Catherine I. MacMoyle and husband John, Michael Gottstein, Lauren P. Gottstein, Sean M. Gottstein, and Danielle Marie Shaw; and her great grandchildren, John M. and Jordan I. MacMoyle, and Bo and Ava Shaw.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, 58 Main Street, Englishtown on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. In lieu of flowers memorial donation to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
