So sad to hear. She was a great teacher but did make you behave or you got the ruler slap on hand. The one thing I remember is the tub in her classroom and I would lay to take naps in. RIP.

Gras was Gras, a most dedicated teacher, a tell it like it is- to everyone without exception, and the most courageous person I have ever met. She loved her students and her care and concern were endless as was her voice in support of the needs she perceived to meet any and all special needs. The joy in knowing Gras was in knowing such concern was real and you had better pay attention. It wa a real joy to have her storm in and lay it on the line, regularly I might add, and know that if you delivered, she would also. She did exceptional things to serve here students and she wa a friend that knew what being a friend was about. We celebrate her life and her memory is a gift that will keep on giving. Best Wishes to the family! Harold Brewer

I met Sharon many years ago through friends, Dee Metzler and Hope Brewer. She was a larger than life person who had no qualms about "telling it like it is"! I loved that about her. For the past several years I have been able to visit her when she was on her March sabbatical at Cherry Grove. Always upbeat, courageous and strong during her battle with this awful cancer. She made me laugh and made me cry. She was a teacher who truely cared. Thanks for the many memories, Gras. Love you. Lucinda Casey

Sharon taught two of my children and I also worked with her at some of the same schools. She was an excellent teacher, dedicated to her students. You fought this battle with such courage and now you are at peace. Thank you for being a friend.

Sharon began her teaching career with me at Highland Elementary School. We worked together for many years. She remained an advocate for the rights of teachers throughout her career. When faced with adversity, she never failed to fight for what she believed. And she battled her health issues in the same way. I have many memories of the friendship we shared over the years! May she rest in peace. My condolences to her family and friends.

Remembering Sharon as an avid supporter and friend to The Arc Drop Off Program. Her dedication to the care of Marianne and her loyalty to her family was observed with a quiet admiration by staff and the friends of Marianne at the Arc program. May your steps be lovingly guided to the home of the One who made you and may your journey be accompanied by your guardian angel to your much deserved rest. Sheila Maloney and your Arc friends
