Obituary of Paul E. Petroff

Paul E. Petroff, 87, of Wall Township died on May 31, 2017 with his family by his side at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in New York City and had resided in Freehold before moving to Wall 46 years ago. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a draftsman at Fort Monmouth before his retirement. Mr. Petroff was a member of the Evangelical Baptist Church, Freehold and American Legion Post No. 346, Neptune Township. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Rose Petroff, and two brothers, John and Alexander Petroff. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Nazaruk Petroff; four sons, Paul J. Petroff and wife Irene, Glenn Petroff, John Petroff and wife Susan, and James Petroff and wife Carolyn; a sister, Elizabeth Karoll; three grandchildren, Amanda Garrity and husband Thomas, Richard J. Petroff, and Ashley Petroff; and five step grandchildren, Sharon, Joey, and Brittney Mangan and Matthew and Deanna Filipkowski. The viewing will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
