Obituary of Paul J. Devaney

Paul J. Devaney, 70, of Millstone Township died Saturday , April 15, 2017 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years before his retirement. After his military service he was a corrections officer for over 20 years at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold. He was a former member of the Eatontown Elks Lodge. He was predeceased by his wife, Christine Devaney in 2006, a brother, Arthur, and a sister, Kathleen. Surviving are his wife, Rita Devaney; a son, P.J. Devaney; a sister, Dorothy Grennan; and many nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from noon to 4:00 p.m.
