Obituary of Mary Sportelli Kellar

Mary Sportelli Kellar, 90, of Freehold Township died on Friday, April 7, 2017 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Kellar was born in Crispiano, Italy and had resided in Freehold for most of her life. She was a bus driver for the Freehold Township Schools for 23 years before her retirement. Her husband, LeRoy Samuel Kellar, died in 2011. She was also predeceased by two brothers, John and Daniel Sportelli, and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Spicuzza. Surviving are three sons, Daniel Spicuzza and wife Carol, Charles Spicuzza, and Joseph Spicuzza and wife Karen; a daughter, Donna Kaufman; a stepson, Robert Kellar; 13 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
