Obituary of Josephine P. Benziger

Josephine P. Benziger, 93, of Jackson Township died Monday, March 20, 2017 at Bella Terra, Jackson Township. Mrs. Benziger was born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania and had resided in Freehold before moving to Jackson Township. During World War II, Mrs. Benziger left her home in Pennsylvania and took a position as a typist at the Pentagon. Following World War II she was employed at General Electric, New York City where she met her husband, Joseph Benziger She retired as a bookkeeper from the John L. Montgomery Medical Home, Freehold Township. Josephine was predeceased by Joe, who passed in 2014. Surviving are her children, Douglas Benziger, Nancy Zanetti and her husband Andrew, and Richard Benziger and wife Joanne Dietrich; her grandchildren, Coltan Benziger, U.S.A.F. Reserves, Caitlin Zanetti, Melissa Lee and husband Alan, Laura Zanetti, Faith Zanetti, Samantha and Annalisa Benziger; and two great grandsons, Jackson and Kyle Lee. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday at 10:30 a.m.
