Obituary of Ann M. Cagney

Ann M. Cagney, 96, of Freehold died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Bartley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Jackson Township. Mrs. Cagney was born in Spring Lake and was a lifelong Freehold resident. Mrs. Cagney was employed at the Monmouth County Board of Education Transportation Department. Mrs. Cagney was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. She was a 70 year member and Past Grand Regent of Court St. Rose of Lima No. 737, Catholic Daughters of the Americas; a past president of the St. Rose of Lima Parent Teachers Association; and a member of the development committee of St. Rose of Lima School. Most importantly Ann was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was the widow of Arthur D. “Larry” Cagney who died in 1978. She was predeceased by a brother, James McMahon and a sister, Kathleen Abbatiello Surviving are children, Patricia Hutcheson and husband John, William Cagney and wife Michelle, James Cagney, John Cagney and wife CindyAnn, Thomas Cagney and wife Brenda, Kathleen Cagney Rossi and husband Raymond, and Robert Cagney and wife Nancy; a brother, Thomas McMahon and wife Louise; her sisters, Mary LaMura, Margaret Rabe and Elizabeth Arcoleo and husband Joseph, a brother-in-law, Anthony Abbatiello; 12 grandchildren, Sean, Megan, James, Justin, Jennifer, Joshua, Joseph, Kerri, Krista, Kevin, Michael, and Kelly; and eight great grandchildren, McKinley, Madison, Layla, Kyle, Ryan, Maryanne, Emily and Declan. We loved her deeply and she will be dearly missed. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery. Memorial donations to the Catholic Daughters of America or St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated.
