Obituary of Patricia Ellen Maas

Patricia Ellen Maas, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Mrs. Maas had resided in Manalapan from 1964 to 2001 when she and her husband moved to South Carolina. She was born in 1939 in Brooklyn, New York to the late John Doherty and the late Margaret (Carnes) Doherty. Mrs. Maas was a former communicant of St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan Township. Patricia was a graduate of Hunter College of NY City, and pursued a career as a legal secretary for over fifteen years. She was a dedicated member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Women's Republican Club, Newcomers Club, Legal Secretary Association of Charleston, and Bridge Club. Patricia enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, George R. Maas, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Susan Lombardi (Mark), of Portsmouth, NH; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Stacey Bower. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 186 Gordons Corner Road, Manalapan on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
