Obituary of Lance C. Bolton
Lance C. Bolton, 50, of Freehold passed away suddenly on Monday, February 20, 2017. He was born in Elizabeth on September 7, 1966. Lance grew up in Freehold Township and graduated Freehold Borough High School in 1984. He played defensive end for the Freehold Borough Football Team and wore number 70.
As a young boy, Lance was a Cub Scout in Freehold Township Pack No. 158 and won the Monmouth County Pine Wood Derby Championship. He later became a member of Freehold Township Boy Scout Troop No. 158.
Lance was hard working and operated Lance Home Improvement. He had a knack for gardening.
Lance was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and hiking. He enjoyed music and partying and cheered for the Mets, Devils, and Rams. He loved big family gatherings, always proclaiming “the pack is together.”
Lance was predeceased by his beloved chocolate Labrador retriever “Bubba”.
He possessed a sweet, gentle personality and a smile that lit up his face. Lance was always there when his family needed him.
Lance is survived by his parents, Neil and Edith Bolton, Naples, Florida; brothers, Neil Bolton and wife Lorrie, Keith Bolton and wife Diane; sisters, Jill Bolton and wife Lucie Gibson, Jan Zaleski and husband Peter, and Joy Bolton, all of Freehold; nephews, Neil Bolton, III and wife Allie, Monroeville, Harold and Michael Bolton, P.J. and Jesse Zaleski, and Connor Bolton, all of Freehold.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Saturday from 11:00 to 1:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724 would be appreciated.
