Obituary of Virginia C. Franklin

Virginia C. “Ginger” Franklin, 93, of Howell Township died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at home. She was born in the Everett section of Holmdel Township, had resided in Marlboro Township until moving to The Villages in Howell Township in 1985, and to Brandywine Assisted Living in 2014. Mrs. Franklin and her late husband operated Franklin’s Garage, Marlboro Township until 1985. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Farmingdale and a member of the Marlboro Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Woman’s Club of The Villages, and AARP. She loved flowers, gardening, crocheting and other handicrafts. Her husband, George A. Franklin, died in 1982. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia “Ginny” and George Ziemienski, and many nieces and nephews. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 31 Asbury Ave., Farmingdale on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Marlboro Township.
