Obituary of Karen Ann Serafin Acostar

Karen Ann Serafin Acostar, 60, of Huntingtown, Maryland passed quietly at home with family at her side on January 3, 2017. Karen was born in Neptune Township on August 11, 1956 to Mathilda and Robert Serafin. She graduated from Freehold Regional High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. Karen enjoyed nature, especially the ocean, art, and needlepoint. Karen is survived by her husband, Constantine (Chris) Acostar; her mother Mathilda; her siblings, Robert M. Serafin, New Jersey, Johanna Lachapelle, Oregon, and Mary Robb, New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews. Karen was predeceased by her dad, Robert Serafin; a sister, Rosemarie Terhune, and brother, Richard Serafin. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Jesus The Good Shepard Church, Owings, Maryland on January 17th with interment at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Maryland.
