Obituary of Joan P. Patten
Joan P. Patten, 77, of Freehold Township died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at home. Mrs. Patten was born in New York City and had resided in Freehold Township for the past 48 years.
Mrs. Patten was a graduate of Brookdale Community College, Lincroft.
She was a paralegal for Cerrato, O’Connor, Mehr, and Saker, Freehold before her retirement.
Mrs. Patten was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. She was a former member of the Junior League of Rumson and a volunteer at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.
Her husband, Vincent F. Patten, Jr. died in 2004. She was also predeceased by a son, Kevin Patten, in 2009 and a brother William E. Gorman.
Surviving are three sons, Vincent F. Patten, III and his wife Lisa M. Patten, Timothy J. Patten, and Thomas E. Patten and his wife Jennifer K. Patten; a daughter-in-law, Annie M. Patten; a sister, Carol Ann “Cookie” McKay; and grandchildren, Brittany M., Morgan A., Erin M., Kevin M., William V., Victoria E., Thomas E., Emily C., Aidan V., and Morgan W. Patten; and many nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery. Memorial donations to the Special Olympics would be appreciated.
