Obituary of Curtis John Hemphill

Curtis John Hemphill, 77 of Jackson Township passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Bishopville, Maryland, he lived in Freehold, Bishopville, Maryland, and Selbyville, Delaware prior to moving to Jackson Township two years ago. Mr. Hemphill was a self-employed contractor. Mr. Hemphill was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 2173, Selbyville, Delaware. His wife, Joyce N. Strohschein Hemphill died in 1965. Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Gigi and James Kaminsky, Jackson Township, Kathy and Jamey Morris, Bishopville, Maryland, and Tammie and Scott Craiger, Dagsboro, Delaware; a brother, Donald Hemphill, Bishopville, Maryland; two sisters, Shirley Gray, Bishopville, Maryland, and Dollie Hemphill, Florida; and eight grandchildren, Lauren, Shane, Jamie, Kaylin, Jessica, Kasey, Jaidyn and Joshua. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 11:00 to 1:00 P.M. Graveside services will be held 1:30 P.M. at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
