Obituary of Joseph Hadad

Joseph Hadad 82, of Monroe Township died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was born in Cairo, Egypt and had resided in Millstone Township and Weston, Florida before moving to Monroe Township. He was educated at Kibbutz Affokim in Israel where he learned his trade as a cabinet maker. He served in the Israeli military from 1952 to 1955. He came to the U.S. in 1961 and became a U.S. citizen in 1966. .He was the owner and operator of Form-Tops Laminators of Trenton, Inc. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Deborah Hadad Silnik. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Soden Hadad; a son, Dr. David Hadad, his wife Cheryl, and their children Brenna Rae, Emma Dee, Carson Lee and Mason Cole; and a son-in-law Raymond Silnik and daughter Stacy Nicole Silnik. He is also survived by sisters, Allegra Barzillay, Noemie Hassine and Lily Ohana; a sister-in-law, Sipora Haddad, wife of his deceased brother, Solomon Haddad He was predeceased by his siblings, Nina Kattan and Aaron Haddad. Joe was a member of Perrineville Jewish Center holding positions of vice-president, buildings and grounds chairperson, and a member of the Chevra Kadisha and cemetery committee. He supervised the erection of the rabbi's new house, and helped with supervising the joining of the synagogue and center which provided additional space for the congregation. Funeral services will be held at the Perrineville Jewish Chapel, Millstone Township on Sunday at 11:00 A.M. followed by interment at Perrineville Jewish Cemetery. Luncheon and Shiva prayers will be held at Perrineville Center. Additional Shiva prayers will be held at 37 Merlot Ct, Monroe Township, NJ from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. Visitors may also call at his home Monday 2 - 4 p.m. Donations in his memory may be sent to PJC, P.O. Box 308, Perrineville, NJ 08831. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
