From my Daughter Kate. In loving memory of Chico Christopher. Chico was like a third parent for most of my childhood. He and my parents rotated cooking and dish duty for years, giving each person every third week off from dinner duty. Chico’s presence in our home taught me that family is who you choose, gather, and love. He was also the one who brought me pastries on weeknights in crinkly white bakery bags, drove me to adventures in his Jeep, and came out with devastating one liners when you least expected it. We regularly sent chocolate and cards back and forth, until this month. Chico gave constantly, significantly, irrationally of himself to anyone in need. When an early Grandparents Day rolled around and mine were far away, he instantly stepped into the roll of “Grandpa Chico” so we could hang out once a year at school. He never missed Grandparents Day. Chico was a master gardener who grew a fantastic garden where he taught his neighbors and hungry local kids how to grow and harvest fruit and veggies. He offered up produce freely, claiming that he needed help with the harvest. I remember picking pounds and pounds of red and black raspberries in big bowls for pies. I know in the coming weeks I will hear a hundred new stories of his kindness from his many fans. Through my eyes, then and now, very simply, Chico was the best. He is so missed. Kate Fama

I met Chico almost twenty years ago when I became involved in the South Central Troy and Little Italy neighborhood groups. He was always generous with his time and had a strong commitment to our upstate New York community. In the past several years I would frequently see and talk to him while he maintained the beautiful Leslie's Garden in our neighborhood.

"I 'god' it" !! That distinctive call could be heard throughout the Edgewood Little League field in Bristol where I first met Chico. We became fast friends and grew even closer when moved in with my family in order to complete his senior year at Eastern High when his dad and family were transferred to New Jersey. He was a brother to me and we shared so many great experiences during our teenage years! I know he will be greatly missed by his family and friends and my thoughts and prayers are with them!

I met Chico my freshman year in college and we immediately hit it off and even shared families! Always a generous, sweet, humble person who dedicated his career to helping others with his awesome architectural skills. I am so fortunate to have had him as one of my best friends for almost 50 years and his loss leaves a deep hole in all of us.

Chico was one my father's good friends and almost a surrogate uncle to my brother and I. He was a regular at RPI hockey games, the Community Gardens brunch and a visitor to my aging grandmother. He was such a good warm soul and we will remember him fondly. Chico's family is in my thoughts and prayers.

So miss him! I met Chico my freshman year in college and had a huge and immediate crush! After a kissing attempt, we agreed to be great friends forever! We even made a pact that if neither of us was in a relationship by the time he was 35, we would get married and have kids! I adore this guy! Clearly, the sweetest, kindest, most generous, humble and caring person ever. While I collected various things, Chico collected people! He is so terribly missed and I am so fortunate to have had him as my very good friend. Donna
