Obituary of Charles K. Gelfond

Charles K. Gelfond, 82, of Jackson Township died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Acute Health System, Lakewood. He was born in Newark. He was a graduate of Newark College of Engineering. Mr. Gelfond was an engineer for IT&T, Nutley before his retirement. He was predeceased by two daughters, Marci Ann Gelfond and Staci Michelle Bennett. Surviving are his wife, Sheila Gelfond; two daughters, Lori Beth Hornacek and her husband Buddy and Randi Lynn Hinkes; a sister, Sheila Pearl Clare and husband Bill; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle, Eric, Heidi, Josh, Alli-Jo, and Justin; and four great grandchildren, Brayden, Landen, Reagan, and Madilyn. Funeral services will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday at 9:45 a.m. followed by interment at Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Shiva will be observed at the Hornacek residence in Manalapan on Saturday 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
