Obituary of Frieda Burgess

Frieda Burgess, 90, of Highland Park, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. Born in New Brunswick, she lived there prior to moving to Highland Park over 60 years ago. Mrs. Burgess was a seamstress for Excel Sportswear, Edison for over 20 years, retiring several years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Burgess, in 1995, and her daughter, Diane G. Paul, on October 6, 2016. Surviving are her son, Gilbert G. Burgess, Freehold; a brother and sister-in-law, Carmen and Angie DeMilio, Brick Township; two grandchildren, Michael Paul and Melissa Maiorino; and two great granddogs. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 500 Somerset Avenue, New Brunswick. Donations in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
