Obituary of Virginia Powell Moss

Virginia Powell Moss, 85, of Farmingdale, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Accomac County, Virginia, she lived in Englishtown and Freehold prior to moving to Farmingdale in 2002. Mrs. Moss was a nurse’s aide at Pinebrook Care and Rehabilitation Center, Englishtown prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Freehold Church of God. She was predeceased by three sons, James Powell in 1988, Ronald Powell in 1990, and Sylvanus Powell in 2004. Surviving are her husband, Clarence Moss; four sons, William Powell and Issaac Powell, both of Freehold, Dennis Powell, Largo, Florida, and Allen Powell, Asbury Park; a daughter, Emma Jean Jackson, Albany, Georgia; 28 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Noon at the Freehold Church of God, 26 Avenue A, Freehold. Visitation will be held at the Church from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
