Obituary of Thomas E. Chwalk
Thomas E. Chwalk, 86 of Marlboro Township, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City, he lived in North Arlington and Bayville prior to moving to Marlboro Township three months ago.
Mr. Chwalk was a foreman for the N. J. Bell Telephone Company, Newark, for 38 years, retiring in 1992.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was predeceased by his parents, Taras and Tekla Golkevich Chwalyk; five sisters; four brothers; and his grandson, Matthew Novak.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Marion Davies Chwalk; two sons, Thomas Chwalk, Wood-Ridge, and Robert Chwalk and his wife, Julie, Freehold Township; three daughters, Sueanne Novak and her husband, Matthew, Mullica Hill, Mary Ann Chiesa and her husband, Michael, Stockholm, and Patricia Chwalk and her fiancé, Geoffrey Harisch, Hamburg; eight grandchildren, Thomas Robert Chwalk and his wife, Margarita, Kristyn Turturro and her husband, George, Abigail and Gage Roberts, Brandon and Ryan Chiesa, and Natalie, Hannah and Lily Chwalk; and four great grandchildren, Thomas Yanuel, Izabella, Nicholas and Mia.
Although he may no longer be physically present, his spirit will always be with us, and with that, our dad left us with the greatest gift anyone can ask for, he left us a legacy of joy and gratitude to have had him as our father.
Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Monday, August 29, 2016, 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
