MARY L. IVORY, 69, of Howell Township died on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Union Springs, Alabama she lived in Smithburg before moving to Howell in 1981. She was a certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor employed with the New Hope Foundation, Inc., Marlboro, since 1984. Mary was a member of the Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church, Englishtown where she served in the Senior Choir, Missionary Department and as Church Clerk for over thirty years. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Chapter No. 38 Order of the Eastern Star PHA since 1975 where she has served as Worthy Matron and Secretary. She is survived by her mother, Ethel Ford, Union Springs, Alabama; her former spouse, Willie Ivory Sr. of Freehold; three daughters, Lydia and Cheryl of Freehold and Debra of Lakewood; one son, Willie Jr. of Parlin; five sisters Rosa Thompson and Martha Joyner of Union Springs, Alabama, Ozella Lewis and Brenda Warren of Howell and Annie Scott of Ocean; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a godson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at the Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church, Englishtown on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the church followed by entombment at Maplewood Chapel Mausoleum, Freehold. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
