Obituary of Thelma E. Dougherty Donohue
Thelma E. Dougherty Donohue, 91, of Manchester Township died Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Bartley Healthcare Center, Jackson Township. Mrs. Donohue was born in Jersey City and resided in Lyndhurst for nine years before moving to Manchester Township 35 years ago.
Mrs. Donohue was a secretary for Novell Essential Oils, Jersey City before her retirement. After her retirement she was employed at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood.
She was a member and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church, Lakehurst; a former member and trustee of the Claremont Presbyterian Church, Jersey City; and a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter.
She was the widow of James Donohue.
Surviving are two sisters, M. Audrey Bright, Manchester Township and Lois A. Helleland, Whiting; a brother, Donald A. Dougherty, Rancho Cordova, California; a stepson, Michael Donohue; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Services will be held at the Old Tennent Cemetery Columbarium Tennent on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad Street, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
