Obituary of Essie Mae Maples
Essie Mae Maples, 86, of Freehold past away on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born on October 31, 1919 to Marymagaline and Albert Herbert and was raised by Jessie Cole, all of whom preceded her being called to glory.
She was a lifelong resident of the Monmouth County area. She moved from the Pergolaville section of Englishtown to Freehold. She was employed at many different fields retiring from the John L. Montgomery Medical Home Housekeeping Department, Freehold Township in 1991.
Essie Mae Maples was full of love and smiles and had a helping hand for anyone who needed her.
Left to cherish her memory and witness to her love are nine children; two daughters, Ethel L. Maples, Freehold and Margaret A. Marlow, Lakewood, seven sons, Joseph Maples, Detroit, Michigan, Harry Maples, New Brunswick, Robert Maples, Farmingdale, Nathaniel Maples, Eatontown, Frank Maples, Piscataway, Edward Maples, Freehold, and Gregory Maples, Brooklyn, N.Y.; 30 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
The viewing will be held at New Hope Baptist Church,Center & First Streets, Freehold on Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. at the Church with Bishop Dr. Charles Simmons officiating followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
