Obituary of Francis Michael Mulligan

Francis Michael Mulligan, 84, of Wilsonville, Oregon died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, Portland, Oregon. He was born in Freehold and had resided there before joining the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to Oakland, California in 1960 and to Wilsonville in 2002. He was a counselor for the U.S. Postal Service before his retirement. He served as paratrooper in 101st Airborne Division, 194th Infantry, Company E during World War II. He attended Fordham University, New York City and was a member of the American Legion Post and B.P.O.E Lodge of Wilsonville. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Charles Mulligan. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Norma Joan Hansen Mulligan; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and John Crescenzo Brick Township; grandchildren, Nicholas and Katharine Crescenzo; a sister, Ann Lunney, Seattle, Washington; and many nephews, nieces, and friends. He was adored by all and a mentor to many. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad Street, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 or St. Cyril’s Catholic Church Building Fund, 9205 Fifth Street, Wilsonville, OR 97070 would be appreciated.
