Obituary of Wilma Pfeffer Gaynor
Wilma Pfeffer Gaynor, 78, of Manalapan Township died Monday, November 13, 2006 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Elizabeth to her beloved parents Mayer and Rosalie Gerson.
She graduated from Battin High School, Elizabeth. She attended Drexel Institute, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Upsula College, East Orange. She was a past president of the Sisterhood of Freehold Jewish Center and a member of Hadassah. She married Martin R. Pfeffer in 1950 and spent the majority of her years raising her three sons in Freehold. She was later married to Bertram Gaynor and moved to Bradley Beach. Upon Mr. Gaynor’s death, she moved to Covered Bridge, Manalapan, where she spent her final years in the constant companionship of Norman Paley. She was known as a strong, loving, generous, compassionate mother and friend, whose love for her friends was only exceeded by her love of her family.
She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley, and brother, Edward.
Wilma is survived by a son, James and daughter-in-law, Mara, East Brunswick; a son Stephen, and daughter-in-law, Susan, Freehold; a son Warren, Freehold; a sister, Lila of Boynton Beach, FL; and four grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Larissa and Bryan.
Services will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 15. Interment will follow at Congregation Agudath Achim Cemetery, Route 33, Freehold.
