Obituary of Howard B. Morris
Howard B. Morris, Jr., 74, of Freehold died Friday, December 8, 2006 at home. He was born in New York City and had resided in Freehold since 1979. He was a quality control engineer for Electronic Concepts, Eatontown. Prior to that he served in the U.S. Army for 27 years before retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer III. He served in Vietnam and Korea. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Meal for eight campaigns, National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. While stationed at Fort Monmouth he was a signal corps instructor. He was a member of the Fort Monmouth Officers Club. Surviving are his wife, Bettine Morris; a son, Howard Morris, III, Schertz, Texas; six daughters, Nanette Evans, Seattle, Washington, Dorene Kirkpatrick and her husband Cal, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Erika Mazzeo and her husband Robert, Jackson Township, Anita Morris, Eatontown, Colleen Cashman and her husband Brian, Freehold, and Karen Kozloski and her husband Walter, Howell Township; a brother, Carter Morris, Ramsey; a sister, Beverly Massey, Frederick, Maryland; 15 grandchildren; and a great grandchild. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 A.M. The interment will be held with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 1:00 P.M.
