Obituary of Charles Patrick Poskonka
Charles Patrick Poskonka, Jr., 68, of Manalapan Township died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Poskonka was born in Newark and had resided in Manalapan Township for the past 42 years. He was also a part-time resident of Kiawah Island, S.C.
He was an engineer for the Ford Motor Company, Edison where he was employed for 30 years before his retirement in 1995.
Mr. Poskonka was a communicant of St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Manalapan Township. He attended Newark College of Engineering and Rutgers University. He enjoyed vacationing with his family at Kiawah Island. He was a loving husband of 45 years, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and brother-in-law.
Surviving are his wife, Olivia Tiberi Poskonka; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jacqueline Poskonka, Colts Neck Township; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Joseph Estenes, Toms River and Nicole and Robert Arent, Jackson Township; a brother, Richard Poskonka, Newton; two sisters, Barbara Varga, Wall Township and Sophie Lodato, Nutley; and ten grandchildren, Karisa, Michael, Sara and Nicholas Poskonka, Joey, Robbie, and Tommy Estenes; and Emily, Bobby, and Michael Arent.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Manalapan Township on Saturday at 11:30 A.M. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
