Obituary of Margaret Shaara O'Brien

Margaret Shaara O’Brien, 64, of Manalapan Township died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge Township. Mrs. O’Brien was born in Jersey City. She was a graduate of Montclair State University, Montclair, Seton Hall University, South Orange, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education, and Rutgers University School of Law, Camden. Mrs. O’Brien was an attorney for Norris McLaughlin, and Marcus, Somerville. Prior to that she practiced with Frank T. Araps, Attorney at Law, for 25 years. She was a special education teacher in Jersey City before attending law school and a public defender in Camden after completing law school. She was an author for Hill International, Willingboro. Surviving are her husband, Richard T. O’Brien, Sr.; and her children, Richard T. O’Brien, Jr. and his wife, Susan; Kim and Bill Powers, Chris and Jennifer Fagan, Lori and Michael DeAngelis; and grandchildren, Charlie and Lucy O’Brien; T. J. Powers, Erin and Bridget Fagan, and Michael, Amanda, and Matthew DeAngelis. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. and Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Manalapan Township on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. Memorial donations to the Gordons Corner Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, 683 Tennent Road, Manalapan, NJ 07726 would be appreciated.
