Obituary of Dorothy C. Barrett
Dorothy C. Barrett, 79, of Freehold died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at home. Mrs. Barrett was born in Bayonne and had resided in Matawan before moving to Freehold in 1962. Mrs. Barrett was a teacher’s aide in the Freehold Intermediate School and Freehold Learning Center for many years. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold, a member of the church choir, a member of Court St. Rose of Lima No 737, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and St. Rose of Lima Altar Rosary Society. Mrs. Barrett was known for her love of the beach and was a travel enthusiast, having visited such destinations as China, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Her husband, John J. Barrett, died in 2004. A son, John J. Barrett, Jr., died in 2006. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas and Jean Barrett, Round Rock, Texas and Richard Barrett, Vista, California; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Russell Wehrle, Freehold Township and Virginia Barrett and James Llewellyn, Hopewell; a brother, Donald Collins; a sister-in-law, Joan Kaverick, Kenilworth; and seven grandchildren, Maura and Karen Wehrle, Kaitlin, Meghan, and Tara Barrett, and Jacqueline and Jessica Llewellyn. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday at 10:00 A.M. followed by entombment at St. Rose of Lima Mausoleum, Freehold.
