Obituary of Ethel Lee Maples
Ethel Lee Maples, 57 of Freehold, died Monday, January 15, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, after battling a long illness. Born in New Brunswick, she lived in Englishtown prior to moving to Freehold 41 years ago. She was a certified nurse’s aide at John L. Montgomery Medical Home, Freehold Township for 20 years, retiring one year ago. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Freehold. One of her biggest joys was a good game of bingo. Daughter of the late Joseph Baskerville and Essie Mae Herbert Maples, she is survived by four sons, Lynn Chris Billingsley, Ellis Billingsley, and William Craig Billingsley, all of Freehold, and Melvin Jermaine Billingsley, Plainfield; a daughter, Vatrina Anne Billingsley and her husband Douglas Oglesby; seven brothers, Joseph Maples, Detroit, Michigan, Harry Maples and his wife Marie, New Brunswick, Robert Maples and his wife Sandra, Farmingdale, Frank Maples and his wife Mae, Piscataway, Nathaniel Maples, Shrewsbury, Edward Maples and his wife Mary, Freehold, and Gregory Maples, Lakewood; a sister, Margaret Marlow, Lakewood; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at New Hope Baptist Church, Center and First Streets, Freehold. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:00 to service time. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
