Obituary of Catherine Elizabeth Mandel

Catherine Elizabeth ‘Kay’ Mandel, 87, of Freehold died Friday, February 9, 2007 at Methodist Healthcare University Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee. Mrs. Mandel was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had resided in Freehold since 1960. She was a nurse’s aide for the MCOSS, Freehold before her retirement. Mrs. Mandel was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church, Freehold; was a volunteer for the Girl Scout’s of America and former Freehold Area Hospital Auxiliary. She was the widow of Charles Edward Mandel who died in 1969. Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Mandel-Brooks and her husband, James, Memphis, Tennessee and Catherine Mandel-Chucta and her husband, William, Freehold; and two grandchildren, Lauren and Justin Brooks. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
