Obituary of Joan Adams

Joan Adams, 84 of Marlboro Township, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Born in Carteret, she lived in Fords prior to moving to Marlboro Township 55 years ago. Mrs. Adams was the Secretary to the President, and to the Racing Secretary at Freehold Raceway for thirty years, retiring several years ago. Prior to that, she was a secretary for Merck, Rahway. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s R.C. Church, Marlboro Township. She was a member of the Jumping Jill’s Club, Fords. Surviving are her husband, Robert M. Adams; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lauri and Peter McGaughran, Wantage, and Christy Adams and George Bochetto, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and a brother, Stephen J. Bartos, Jr. and his wife, Roma, Manalapan Township,. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Historic Church on Friday at 10:00 A.M. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum.
