Obituary of Sadie Metz

Sadie Metz, 88, of Freehold died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at home. Mrs. Metz was born in New York City and had resided in Freehold for the past 65 years. Mrs. Metz was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim and a Past President of the congregation’s Sisterhood, Freehold and a member of Hadassah. She was an active supporter of CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township serving as a volunteer for the hospital’s charity balls and auctions. She was predeceased by a brother Paul Gilbert. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, David B. Metz; two sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Laura Metz, Monroe Township and Larry and Paula Metz, Colts Neck Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Dr. Jeffrey Roffman, Little Silver; a sister, Evelyn Blumenthal, San Francisco, California; grandchildren, Steven Metz and his wife Carrie, Sharon Rosenthal and her husband Walter, Elisa Lemberger and her husband Dr. Steve Lemberger, Michael Metz and his wife Staci, Bonnie Troubh and her husband Jed, Dr. Eric Roffman, Todd Roffman, Lauren Metz, and Daniel Metz; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday at noon followed by interment at Hebrew Benefit Society Cemetery, Freehold.
