Obituary of Ruth M. Rising

Ruth M. Rising, 87, of Oakland, Maryland, formerly of Freehold Township, died Monday, March 12, 2007 at Goodwill Retirement Community, Grantsville, Maryland. Mrs. Rising was born in Coventry, N.Y. and had resided in Marlboro Township and Freehold Township before moving to Oakland two and a half years ago. Mrs. Rising was a registered nurse before her retirement. She was a graduate of the Englewood Hospital School of Nursing and a member of the school’s alumni association. Mrs. Rising was a member of the Old Brick Reformed Church, Marlboro Township for over 50 years. Her first husband, Lawrence H. Rising, died in 1996. Her second husband, Robert Biddle, died in 2006. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Judy Rising, Fond de Lac, Wisconsin; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia M. and Walter Copeland, Oakland, Maryland; five stepchildren, Gary Biddle, Wendy VanEmburgh, Ricky Biddle, Christy Uricks, and Barry Biddle; two sisters, Lavinia Deloskay, Morganville and Ethel Lang, Carlsbad, California; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and six step grandchildren. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 A.M. followed by interment at Old Brick Reformed Church Cemetery, Marlboro Township. Memorial donations to the Goodwill Retirement Community, 891 Dorsey Hotel Road, Grantsville, MD 21536 would be appreciated.
